My environment influences my work. I live in an industrial loft and have been captivated by geometry and texture. This led me to paint the fishing boats and docks of Gloucester, Massachusetts. I reduced my palette to warm and cool shades of grey. I wanted to capture the particular grittiness, strength and abstracted forms of the working harbor without the distraction of more descriptive color.
