The images of Edinburgh are inspired by an annual theatre trip I take with my husband. The effect of light as it moves through form has been the most consistent inspiration for all my work. In Edinburgh I was drawn in particular to the rhythms, repetitions, and varied textures of both urban and rural scenes. In order to emphasize these elements, the palette for these paintings is soft and minimal.
